Happy 4th of July Weekend!

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! Jeff and I had an awesome, fun and productive weekend. We spent a gorgeous 4th in St. Anthony Park watching the parade with friends. Afterwards we all moved down to Langford Park for a picnic and a relaxing time for us all to catch up. We were very excited to finally meet Todd & Anna's son, Magnus. He is the cutest little peanut and I can't believe he is already six months old. Here's a great pic of Todd, Anna, Magnus & Eric in the park.

Jeff and I also spent a lot of ti
me on around-the-house type projects. We finished painting the kitchen and the color turned out great. I was a little hesitant about the color when we put the first coat on. It is a little more bold than I am used to. However, Jeff's great taste has shown through again and the color really works. The kitchen is so much brighter and fun to be in.

Here's a couple pics of the kitchen pre-tape removal. Check out our supervisor in the pic on the left.

We also picked up and assembled our dining room table this weekend. You can slightly see it in the above picture on the left. It is directly through the kitchen to the left of the fridge. The table is a great mahogony/cherry color to match our end tables and bookshelves in the living room. The chairs are coming in about five days and we can pick them up and have them assembled next weekend.

Now Jeff and I are moving on to painting the master bedroom. Jeff also picked out this great blue-gray-purple color for the bedroom. We love it already.

Even though you may be thinking that we spent the weekend only doing housework, we also had some great moments of relaxation. Jeff and I tried out our new basketball at the court down the street, we watched a couple of great movies like Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window", we made cookies, we ate cookies, we spent many a relaxing moments enjoying our three-season porch and we took Ruby on a nice long walk through the nature preserve across the street from our house. Last, we were even able to watch the Central Park fireworks from the love-seat in our living room. It was a perfect view!
