COLOR CONSULTATION

Along with all the landscaping projects on-deck for this year, Jeff & I also need our house re-painted.  When we moved into our house, we knew the siding color was going to be a struggle due to the unique color of stone on our house, as well as the orange-tinted shingles.  Our house is currently saturated with a camel-colored paint and has no trim work to speak of.  While the color works with the house, we wanted to experiment and see what else we could do to update the look and to bring out the pieces of trim work.  Since color is not my forte, we hired a local color consultant to come to our house and give us some suggestions.

Molly McKinney is a highly-rated consultant we found out on Angie’s List, and we soon found out why.  She was very professional, very friendly and extremely collaborative in her consultation process.  Molly started by listening to our ideas and taking a tour around the house.  She then picked out five different colors and allowed us to talk through the pros/cons of each.  As we started to narrow the list, Molly would insert trim colors and other options we may not have thought of.  She incorporated the color in the stone and the roof and instead of matching the colors with yet another tan shade, she showed us how to compliment the stone, but play down how out-dated they look.  After a two-hour session, Jeff & I had five different color combination's to discuss and are now left to try out some samples.  As I still struggle with making a decision, I may leave this one up to Jeff (but no pressure, of course).  ;o)
