Date Night

Jeff and I had a much needed night out on the town on Friday. With all of the stress and changes going on at work for me and with Jeff being busy every night last week, it was great for us to relax and reconnect on Friday. Since I had to work late on Friday, Jeff met me in downtown Minneapolis around 6pm. The weather was great and Peavey Plaza was alive and rockin.

We had made dinner reservations for the Dakota Jazz Club and we ended up getting one of the best seats in the house. We had a great two seater booth with perfect views of the jazz band on stage. Dinner was, of course, fantastic. Jeff started off with some beef and basil carpaccio (aka tartare) and a caesar style salad, while I started off with the chilled sweet corn and grilled shrimp soup. For our entrees, Jeff had the Hawaiian blue marlin and I had the Kobe beef tenderloin. My dinner was one of the best beef tenderloins I had ever had. It was melt in your mouth delicious. Our entire meal was a treat.

Dinner itself would have made our night complete, but immediately afterwards we headed across the street to Orchestra Hall for the show "1964: A Tribute". This is a Beatles cover band that looks and sounds exactly like the Beatles right after they hit America. We had a great time rockin out to the hits like "I wanna hold your hand", "Twist and Shout", and "Paperback Writer". We were still so alive when we got home that night that we even took Ruby for a night walk through our new neighborhood. It was a perfect date night!
