Holiday Decorating

Thanksgiving Day marks the time when I am officially allowed to start bringing out the Xmas decorations. (Okay, I may have started a little early this year b/c Sean & Kim visited the week before Thanksgiving.)

Since Jeff & I celebrate Thanksgiving at our home, it is easy to slowly decorate throughout the day in between football and cooking. It is an incredibly relaxing day and we both enjoy watching the holiday spirit
make its way into our lives. Ruby & Baxter love checking out all the boxes and inspecting everything as it makes its way out of storage.

Here are some pics of our holiday decorations. Hope you all enjoy!

(Above) Here are Ruby & Baxter in their Xmas outfits from last year. Ruby still looks great, but I think my little chunky monkey, Bax, may have outgrown his Mr. Claus suit.

(Above) Ruby is inspecting the Xmas tree box to make sure that all is as it should be. You can't tell, but Bax was already in the box when Ruby jumped in. He is actually stuck underneath the flap and can't get out while Ruby is in the box.

(Above) Here are pics of our two Xmas trees. The first tree in our lower level was a gift from my parents while I was still living on my own. On it are all the wooden ornaments from my youth. Most of the ornaments date back between 1982-1988. The second pic is of our 7.5 foot tree in the upper level. This is pre-ornament.

(Above) While our village is still small, Jeff & I have our collection of porcelain houses on the shelf in our lower level windows. This year we added a toy shop to our village.

Below is a pic of our finished Xmas tree. We love that our tree is starting to have a great addition of ornaments we collect each year while Jeff & I are on vacation. For example, the Treasure Island dice from when we got married in Vegas in 2007, the Disney fireplace scene from our Honeymoon at Disney World in 2008, and our camping bears from our North Shore trip in 2009. We also have some unique ornaments our families have given us in past Xmas's: wedding ornaments, new home ornaments, and the great family ornaments Maria has given us the past couple of years. It really makes our tree very special for us. Now all we need are the presents under the tree!
